Attendance

Regular attendance is critical for consistency of training and progression.

Students must be on-time or early for all scheduled classes.
This is a physical activity that requires proper preparation to avoid unnecessary injury.

As a safety precaution, students who arrive 15 minutes after class has begun will not be permitted to dance. Late-comers will be asked to sit and observe class, as observation is a valuable learning experience.

We understand that some circumstances may prevent a student from attending class (illness, family emergency, etc). Please call or email the studio to let the instructors know your child will be unable to attend class.

Students are required to be in dress code to participate in class. Students not in dress code may be asked to sit and observe class.

Students must wear the designated color for their level.

Hair must be neat and pulled into a ballet bun for all classes and rehearsals. Short hair must be pulled back away from the face. Bangs must not fall below the eyebrow.

Studio Etiquette

Westmoreland Youth Ballet seeks to provide a safe and positive learning environment for all students.

Students are expected to be kind and courteous to the faculty, guest artists, parents and fellow students.

Please respect our facility by cleaning up after yourself and disposing of trash in the proper receptacles.

Please keep your personal belongings together, either in a locker or cubby. WYB is not responsible for lost or damaged Items.

Dressing room and waiting area noise should be kept to a minimum.

Make-Up Class

Students may take class outside of their regular schedule to make up for absences.

Students may take a make-up class with any level below their own. Students are not permitted to take with the level above.

Students should wear their designated class color.

Please email the studio to make arrangements for a make-up class.

Class Etiquette

Students are to be kind and respectful of their instructors and classmates.

Jewelry (with the exception of earrings) may not to be worn during class. Students will be asked to take off any jewelry before the start of class.

Warmups and junk clothing may not be worn during class.

Cellphone use is not permitted in the studio.

Only water is allowed in the studio.

Levels 4-6: Dance bags must be locked in your assigned locker during class. If your bag is not locked up, it must be brought into the studio with you.
