En Pointe Scholarship

At Westmoreland Youth Ballet, we believe dance is a gift to be shared with every aspiring young artist. Dancing brings joy, freedom, and a strong sense of community. We support our student’s passion for their craft and their desire to enhance their abilities.

Westmoreland Youth Ballet is proud to award scholarships to students enrolled in the Pre-Professional Division who demonstrate both artistic excellence in the studio and financial need. Scholarships are awarded in the form of tuition credit, and are limited. 

Students who have been awarded a scholarship are expected to set the precedent in the studio: Good attendance, strong work ethic, and respect for fellow students. 

If these expectations are not met, students may be taken off scholarship at any time.

Volunteer Needs:

Scholarship recipients are encouraged to support their fellow students and school through volunteer activities. 

Here is a list of a few of  WYB’s volunteer needs:

•  Student Demonstrator (Student only)
• Cleaning/organizing the studio on a weekly basis (Student only)
•  Set up/take down for Dress rehearsals and Performances (Student and/or Parents)
• Backstage help – Dress rehearsals and Performances (Parents only)
• Flower and Ticket sales during Performance (Parents only)
• Fundraising Events for Westmoreland Youth Ballet (Student and/or Parents)
• Special Events hosted by Westmoreland Youth Ballet (Student and/or Parents)

Application Deadline: Friday, September 30th

Application Requirements:

• Applicant must be enrolled in the Pre-Professional Division
• Completed and Signed application form and confidentiality agreement
• Page 1 and 2 of applicant’s Federal Form 1040; signature page must be signed
• If you were or are on unemployment, the official unemployment letter from the U.S. Department of Labor must be submitted

                        o Documentation must include dollar amount received and date range for when unemployment was received.

• Tuition for Summer 2021 and September 2021 (1st month) must be up-to-date at the time of application
